Frequently asked questions

The questions people really ask about ADLANTE, with today’s answer: the editor, styles, the shop, workshops, Stripe, payments and courses.

The editor: texts, names and colours

The most common questions from people building their website with the editor. Each answer is what happens today; for more, see the editor guide. The editor is only in Spanish for now, so its buttons are named in Spanish, with the English in brackets.

How do I change the courses sentence? (the one in the “Próximamente” notice)

You write it where it shows. In the editor, in Editar (Edit), tap the sentence on your top section, or find it in Capas (Layers) under the name La frase de «Próximamente» (The “Coming soon” sentence), and change it: it has one box in Spanish and one in English.

You can also get there from the Cursos (Courses) section: in the group Mientras tanto (Meanwhile), tap Cambiar esta frase (Change this sentence).

That sentence only shows while your website is in “Próximamente” (coming soon). When your website goes to Abierta (Open), it stops showing.

What is “Su alto” in the top bar? And “Al bajar por la página”?

Those names are gone. Now, in the editor, tap the top bar of your website and you will see Altura de la barra (Bar height) (low, normal or high) and ¿La barra se queda fija al bajar? (Does the bar stay fixed when scrolling?), with two buttons: Sí, fija arriba (Yes, fixed at the top) and No, se va con la página (No, it scrolls away). Next to each title there is an “i”: tap it and it shows you, with a drawing, where the change is noticed.

What is “Su aire”?

It is now called Espacio arriba y abajo (Space above and below) (little, normal or a lot): the gap above and below a section. You find it by tapping the section, in Más opciones (More options), and it has its “i”.

Another label that confuses people is Solo en el móvil (Only on the phone). It shows when you change something while looking at your website on the phone: that change only applies on the phone and leaves the computer alone. It is a label, not a button. Next to it there are two buttons: Llevar a todos (Apply to all), which passes the change to all devices, and Quitar el cambio (Remove the change), which deletes it.

I type in “Su nombre en el menú” and nothing seems to change. And “Otros textos”, what are those?

That field is now called Cómo se llama en el menú (What it is called in the menu) and it is in Más opciones (More options) of each section. Since the menu is not inside the section, while you type your website shows you where it will appear, with the mark Aquí sale (It shows here): on a computer, in the top bar; on a phone, it opens the ☰ and marks it. On a small screen, a miniature website also shows it right under the box.

“Otros textos” is now called Lo que dice (What it says): the texts of the section that are neither its title nor its main text, such as El botón de cada curso (The button of each course) in the courses section.

I try to change the letters to white and it does not change

It is not a bug: if white would not be readable on that background, your website uses black. The editor says so next to the colour (“El blanco no se leería sobre este fondo: en tu web sale en negro.” – white would not be readable on this background: on your website it comes out black) and gives you a one-tap fix: Oscurecer el fondo lo justo (Darken the background just enough) (or Aclarar el fondo lo justo (Lighten the background just enough)), or Ponerle un fondo oscuro (Give it a dark background). If the change was only for the phone, the notice says so.

The editor checks your website on the three devices, by day and by night, and fixes only what would not be readable: no website goes out broken.

In “Tus datos”, does my Instagram go with the @ or with the link?

Either way works: your username (@yourspace) or your profile address (instagram.com/yourspace, with or without https://).

If something in Tus datos (Your details) is not understood, the editor tells you in its own box and, in Editar (Edit), the social icon and the Contacto (Contact) row carry the notice “No sale en tu web:” (It does not show on your website:) with a button, Revisar tu Instagram (Check your Instagram) (or Poner tu Instagram, Add your Instagram, if it is empty). Until it is fixed, that detail does not show on your website.

Are the two buttons of the top section linked?

No. Each button has its own ¿Adónde lleva? (Where does it go?). If, when you add a detail in Tus datos (Your details) (your WhatsApp, your Instagram…), a button suddenly appears, it is because it already pointed there and was not showing because the detail was missing.

Why does a button show in the editor but not on my website?

Because that button points to something your website does not have. In Editar (Edit), a button that will not show appears with a line through it and, when you tap it, a notice that says “No sale en tu web:” (It does not show on your website:) with the reason and how to fix it (a detail is missing in Tus datos (Your details), it points to a section you do not have…). Probar (Try it) shows exactly your website as it will come out: there, that button is gone.

I chose “Un color” as the background and, instead of the background, the products changed colour

Un color (One colour) sets Tu color (Your colour), the one from Toda la web (Whole website), as the background. If your colour is white, the background hardly changes. What does change, in the Shop section, are the sample drawings (the T-shirt, the bags): they are painted with your colour and, so they can be seen on that background, they darken on their own. The editor says it underneath: “Los dibujos de ejemplo de la tienda van con tu color; en tu web salen las fotos de tus productos.” (The shop’s sample drawings use your colour; on your website your product photos show.) Those drawings do not show on your website, and your product photos do not change colour.

For another background, pick a colour in El color del fondo (The background colour).

I chose “Un color” as the background and almost nothing changes. Why?

Because your colour and your page background look alike. Under Un color (One colour), the editor says which colour it is (“Tu color: blanco”) and warns you if it is hardly noticeable: “Es casi el mismo color que el fondo de tu página: no se notará.” (It is almost the same colour as your page background: it will not be noticeable.) Pick another one in the palette, or try “Suave”, “Oscuro” or “Otro” (Soft, Dark, Other).

The editor: moving things, sizes and menu order

Can I move the timetable (or anything) up or down inside its section?

Yes, in every section. Turn on Mover (Move) (the hand): on a computer, at the top, in the options bar next to the font, the size and the alignment; on a phone and a tablet, between Editar (Edit) and Probar (Try it). Grab the whole timetable, a title, a text or a button: it snaps to a grid and does not leave its section. If it is going to cover something, that moves down just enough. It also moves with the keyboard arrows and with the buttons in the settings. Each device (phone, tablet, computer) has its own.

Deshacer (Undo) and Volver a como venía (Back to how it was) (for one thing or for the whole section) leave it as it was. Your website does not change until you move something, and Mover (Move) starts off every time you open the editor. The top bar and the footer do not move with the hand: their place is fixed.

I turn off “Mover” and the grid is still there; and if I tap a layout, it looks ugly

The grid, the handles and dragging only show with Mover (Move) on: when you turn it off they go at once, and what you moved stays where you put it.

And when you tap a layout in Cómo va en el ordenador (How it goes on the computer; or on the tablet or the phone), the section is set up like that layout: what you had placed by hand on that device goes back to its place. With Deshacer (Undo) you get it back. The section’s note warns you before you tap: “Si eliges uno de estos diseños, vuelve a ir como ese diseño.” (If you choose one of these layouts, it goes back to that layout.)

How do I make a button smaller?

Tap the button in the editor and, in El tamaño (The size), choose among five sizes, from “Muy pequeño” (very small) to “Muy grande” (very big). You can also use Mover (Move): from its corner, the button goes through those five sizes, moving along the grid.

Even if it looks small, the area you touch with a finger stays 44 pixels (what Apple and Google ask for): it grows inside, without showing.

How do I change the order of the top menu? I want to take “Tienda” and put it first

In the editor, open the top bar in Capas (Layers) and tap El menú (The menu). The list of its names appears: drag one to another place, or use its arrows ↑ ↓ (with the keyboard, Alt+↑ and Alt+↓). The menu has its own order: your sections do not move from where they are. It works for the computer menu and for the ☰ on the phone. A new section comes out at the end of the menu.

Mover (Move) (the hand) does not touch the top bar. Each name is changed in its section, in Cómo se llama en el menú (What it is called in the menu): in the El menú (The menu) list, tap one to go there.

Can I show my timetable in some way other than a table?

Yes, in five: Una tabla: día, hora, clase y sala (A table: day, time, class and room), Una tarjeta por clase (One card per class), Agrupado por días (Grouped by day), La semana en columnas (The week in columns) and Una lista compacta, una línea por clase (A compact list, one line per class). You choose in the Horarios (Timetable) section, under Cómo va en el ordenador (How it goes on the computer).

On the phone you choose separately, and there are three: Una tarjeta por clase (One card per class), Agrupado por días (Grouped by day) and Una lista compacta (A compact list); the week in columns does not fit on a phone and goes by days. The tablet works like the computer.

Photos, logo and icon in the editor

Can I crop or zoom a photo so it fits?

Yes, including the photo of your top section: in Más opciones (More options) of Tu foto o tu vídeo (Your photo or video), Qué parte se ve (Which part shows) opens a frame where you choose which part stays in view and how close it gets (Recortar o acercar la foto (Crop or zoom the photo)); your photo itself is not changed. The same exists on the “About us” cards, in “Text and image” and in the gallery.

And moving or stretching it is no longer hidden: with Mover (Move) (the hand), at the top, in any section.

Can I use my own favicon (the tab icon)?

Yes. In Toda la web (Whole website), right at the bottom, in Cómo se ve al compartir (How it looks when shared), there is El icono de la pestaña (The tab icon): tap Subir uno cuadrado (Upload a square one) (square, 192 × 192 pixels or more) and choose which part shows. If you upload none, your logo shows; and if you have no logo, ADLANTE’s.

Right there you also choose Tu tarjeta para compartir (Your sharing card), seeing how it looks on WhatsApp. And each course, each product and each page also has its own address and card, in Cada curso, producto y página (Each course, product and page).

Why do my logo or my photos not show on the published website?

It is almost always one of three things: you have not tapped Publicar (Publish) after putting them there (your published website only changes when you publish); the photo has not finished uploading yet (the publish window says so and warns that, if it does not upload, your website will go out without it); or it is a video that is still being prepared. The detail, with the messages for each case, is in Your photos, the bin and languages.

The photos of your courses and your shop are also saved in three sizes, and each phone downloads the smallest one that works for it. The ones you already had stay as they are until you change them.

If I remove the background photo (“Ninguno”) and publish, is it kept somewhere?

Yes. The photo stays in ADLANTE: you find it in Your photos and videos, under Not in use, and if 30 days go by without using it, it goes to the bin on its own. A video is never deleted on its own: if you have some you are not using, at the top of Your photos and videos it tells you how many they are and how many minutes of your video space they take, with See the videos you are not using to go and delete them. All of it, in Your photos, the bin and languages.

Publishing, saving and seeing your website

I published and my address still does not show my website

When you tap Publicar (Publish), the editor saves the latest changes and publishes. If ADLANTE does not answer, Publicar (Publish) retries on its own for a few seconds (the button says “Reintentando…”, retrying), without publishing twice. If it publishes but the address does not show it yet, the editor says “Publicada en ADLANTE. Su dirección puede tardar unos minutos en enseñarla.” (Published in ADLANTE. Its address may take a few minutes to show it): wait a few minutes and reload. If it really could not, it says what happened (“tu web sigue como estaba”, your website stays as it was) and you can try again with one tap.

And once published, your website keeps showing even if ADLANTE’s servers go down for a while: a fixed copy is saved when you publish.

Can I edit my website from my phone?

Yes, although the editor is designed for a big screen (the first time, it recommends one). A 3-tap tour, on the phone and on the computer, shows you the basics: tap anything on your website to change it, at the top you choose phone or computer, and Publicar (Publish). You can skip it with Saltar (Skip), and watch it again with Ver el recorrido otra vez (See the tour again) (in the settings, with nothing selected; on the phone, by tapping “Ajustes”, settings).

On the phone, the buttons at the top are only a drawing: hold your finger on one for half a second and it tells you what it is and what it does (that touch does not press it). On a computer, just rest the mouse on it.

What does someone see who opens a page of my website that does not exist?

“Esta página no existe.” (This page does not exist), with your bar, your menu, your colours and your footer, and a button Go to (your name)’s home page. Google does not keep it.

Adding paid sections and asking for what you miss

In “Añadir una sección” it says “Con un extra” for workshops… isn’t the shop an extra too?

That group no longer exists. In Añadir una sección (Add a section) all the sections come out together, under Las secciones de tu web (The sections of your website). The paid ones carry a small label: “De pago · (its price) al mes” (Paid · its price a month) if you have not turned them on yet, and “Extra” if you already have them. Setting up is free: you can add the Shop, the Featured product or the Workshops and try them without turning them on, and in the editor they say Solo lo ves tú (Only you can see this); on your published website they do not show until you turn them on in Your plan. Publicar (Publish) tells you so, with the price, and lets you Activarlas (Turn them on) or Publicar sin ellas (Publish without them). More in Your plan.

When I tap “Missing something? Tell us” it takes me into the editor

Not any more. The window opens on top of the page you are on, without leaving it (in the editor, the usual one). It asks for the title of your idea and a description; without both it is not sent, and it tells you what is missing. When it is sent you see “Thank you. We will read it.” and it reaches us with the page you sent it from. How to use it, in Your photos, the bin and languages. In the panel, the button only appears on a computer, with a wide screen; on a phone and a tablet you have it inside the editor.

Styles and sample websites

Styles are in Toda la web (Whole website), at the very top, under Estilos (Styles). The sample websites are right below, under Webs de ejemplo (Sample websites).

What is a style? Does it change what I have written?

A style is a complete outfit for your website. In Toda la web (Whole website), at the very top, Estilos (Styles) shows you five (Sereno (Serene), Escenario (Stage), Cuaderno (Notebook), Recreo (Playtime) and Estudio (Studio)), each with a preview of YOUR website. One tap changes the fonts, the space between sections, the width, the corners, the background of the page and of the sections, the buttons, the cards, the bar and the footer. It does not change your texts, your photos, your colour or your logo, nor what shows and what does not, nor the order or place of things.

I applied a style and I don’t like it: how do I go back to how it was?

Tap Deshacer (Undo): it appears right under the styles (“Tu web lleva «Sereno».”, your website has “Serene”) and also at the very top of the editor. Or tap another style.

If I apply a style, do I lose what I had changed by hand?

Before applying it, the editor tells you what you changed by hand (for example, “tus letras y el fondo de alguna sección”, your fonts and the background of some section) and lets you cancel: it shows “¿Poner el estilo «Sereno»?” (Apply the style “Serene”?) with Ponerlo (Apply it) and Cancelar (Cancel). If you apply it, the style puts its own settings on those things; Deshacer (Undo) brings everything back. A section that has your photo or your video as its background is not touched, nor is the page background if it is your photo.

Can I change things after applying a style?

Yes, everything: a style is a starting point, not a cage. Your fonts, the corners, the buttons, each section… can still be changed one by one.

What are the “Webs de ejemplo”? If I set one up, do I lose my sections?

In Toda la web (Whole website), under Estilos (Styles), there are five complete websites (Web 1 · La sala (Site 1 · The studio), Web 2 · La noche (Site 2 · The night), Web 3 · El aula (Site 3 · The classroom), Web 4 · El patio (Site 4 · The playground) and Web 5 · En línea (Site 5 · Online)), each with its order of sections, its way of laying them out and its style, with your own things inside. Before setting one up, the editor explains what changes: “¿Montar tu web como…?” (Set up your website as…?). With Montarla así (Set it up like this), your sections change place and shape; the ones that example does not use are turned off, not deleted (you turn them on with the eye in Capas (Layers)). Your texts, photos, colour and logo stay. Deshacer (Undo) brings everything back.

The sample has a shop (or workshops) and my website does not

The shop and the workshops are separate tools. In the samples they show so you can see how they look; on your website they show once you have them turned on (and, for the shop, open). When you set up a sample, the window tells you which ones you do not have yet.

What are “El aire entre las secciones” and “El ancho de tu web”?

They are in Toda la web (Whole website) → Más opciones (More options). El aire entre las secciones (The space between sections) is the gap above and below every section, across your whole website (each section still has its own Espacio arriba y abajo (Space above and below)): Poco (Little), Normal, Mucho (A lot) or Muchísimo (Loads). El ancho de tu web (The width of your website) is how far the content reaches on a big screen (Estrecho (Narrow), Normal or Ancho (Wide)); on the phone nothing changes.

The shop: opening it and getting it onto your website

A complete explanation, step by step, in the shop guide.

I set a product “For sale” and it does not show on my website

Your shop has a switch. While it is Closed, your website shows no products, even if they are for sale: the editor does show them, which is why it seems ready.

In Your shop, at the top, Your shop in 6 steps and To open it you still need: tell you what is left. Each line is a link that takes you to the box where it is fixed, ready to type in: who sells (“Who sells: add your email”), how it is delivered, how you get paid, and a product For sale. Fill it in and tap Open the shop. If the “Shop” page still does not show on your website, tap Publicar (Publish) again in the editor.

In the editor (and on a product) I see “Your shop is closed: it does not show on your website yet”

It is the notice that your shop is still Closed: while it is, no product shows on your website, even though you see them in the editor. It tells you how many steps are left (“You have 2 steps left.”) and See the steps in «Your shop» takes you to the list that ticks itself off. It shows in the editor, when you tap the Shop or the Featured product, and at the top of each product’s page. When you open the shop, it goes away on its own.

I set the shop “En su propia página” and on my website it says “This page does not exist”

It was a bug on our side and it is already fixed. With Dónde sale (Where it shows) → En su propia página (On its own page), the Shop shows at yourspace.adlante.com/tienda, with “Tienda” in your menu (and the same for the Featured product, on its own). Each product has its own address (yourspace.adlante.com/tienda/the-product).

Note: with the shop Closed, that page does not exist, just as no product shows. Open it in “Your shop”.

What do I have to fill in to open my shop?

Four things, in Your shop → Settings and Products:

Who sells: your legal name (or your company’s), an address and an email; the law requires them to show in your shop.

How it is delivered: the address where orders are picked up at your space (or shipping, if you have it).

How you get paid: on pickup, by bank transfer or by card.

A product For sale.

Everything else is optional: your tax number, your phone, the opening hours, the instructions, your own returns text. Save the settings and tap Open the shop. For it to be seen, the Shop has to be on your website and published: those are the last two steps of Your shop in 6 steps. If you want to take card payments only, you can: with Your payments active, the card counts toward opening.

When I save the shop settings I get an error even though I fixed it

It was a bug on our side and it is already fixed. Each Save clears the earlier notice: if all is well, “Settings saved.” appears in green (with what is still missing to open); if not, what needs fixing appears in red. The same goes for the rest of Your shop and for Your workshops.

Under “How you get paid” it says “By card: coming soon”

That text was old and no longer appears. Under How you get paid, By card says whether it is Active (the buyer can pay by card) or why not yet (for example, Not finished: you still need to finish signing up with Stripe), with the link Go to “Your payments”. You do not need to tick anything: as soon as your account in Your payments shows “Active”, buyers see Card when they pay. And the card counts toward opening the shop: you no longer need “on pickup” or “by bank transfer” as well.

Why does “By card” not show under “How you get paid”?

It does show: By card, with its state (Active, Not finished, Not connected…), what is happening in one sentence and the link Go to “Your payments” to fix it. Taking card payments needs your Stripe account connected and Active in Your payments; until then you can be paid on pickup or by bank transfer. How to connect it: Card payments.

The shop: products, backgrounds and photos

How do I change the colour of the product cards? And the photo background separately?

In the editor, in Capas (Layers), inside Tienda (Shop), tap Las tarjetas de los productos (The product cards) → ¿Qué lleva de fondo? (What is the background?) → Un color (One colour), and choose. The border and the corners are in Más opciones (More options).

The photo background is chosen separately, in the group La foto (The photo) → El fondo de la foto (The photo background). You notice it with transparent-background photos (a cut-out PNG) and with the sample drawings; a normal photo fills its space completely. The same exists in Las tarjetas de los cursos (The course cards) and in Las tarjetas de los eventos (The event cards).

Can I change the colour behind the photo of my products?

Yes. In Las tarjetas de los productos (The product cards) → La foto (The photo) → El fondo de la foto (The photo background), apart from the background at the bottom of the card. You notice it with transparent-background photos (a cut-out PNG) and with the sample drawings; a normal photo fills its space completely. The same goes for the cards of your courses and of your workshops.

Can I change the background or the colours of a product page, the cart or the order?

Yes. In the editor, in the Shop section (or the Featured product), tap Las páginas de la tienda (The shop pages) → Cambiar su fondo y sus letras (Change their background and fonts): you choose a colour or a gradient and the colour of the text (ADLANTE checks it is readable). It applies to each product’s page, the cart, the payment and My order. If you do not touch it, those pages dress themselves with what you set in Toda la web (Whole website): your logo, your menu, your fonts and your colours. To see them in the editor, open a product from your shop or use Probar (Try it).

Do I have to upload a photo or write a product description?

No. Without a photo it sells all the same, but the product page warns you (“Ponle al menos una foto: la ley pide que se vea el producto.”, add at least one photo: the law asks that the product can be seen), because with a photo it sells better. The only thing that stops you putting it on sale is what the law asks when the manufacturer is not your space: its name, its address and how to contact it (“Faltan los datos de quien lo fabrica.”, the manufacturer’s details are missing). If it is clothing or fabric, it also asks what it is made of. Those notices appear at the top of the product page, under “Antes de venderlo:” (before selling it).

Do I have to tap “Save” in every section of a product?

No. A product page has a single Save, at the bottom: it saves the basics, sizes and colours, units, photo texts and legal details in one go. If something is wrong, nothing is saved and it shows in red where. While there are changes, it says “You have unsaved changes.”, and when you leave the page it warns you. Photos are uploaded and removed at once, without tapping anything. The shop Settings have the same bar.

The shop: what people buy, letting them know and refunds

How does someone who buys from me pay by card?

They choose the product and tap Add to cart; in Your cart they tap Go to checkout; they write their details (name, email and, if they want, phone), choose How you want it and, under How you pay, Card; they tick that they accept the conditions and tap Confirm purchase. Stripe’s secure payment opens and, once they have paid, they come back to your website with their order: Paid, its number, its code, what they bought and the taxes included.

Where that payment opens and what branding it carries is in the question “Do buyers leave my website to pay? Does my brand show on the payment?” in the Stripe part.

They do not get any email yet: that is why their page tells them to keep their code and their link, and that with their code and their email they can check it in My order.

Why can people buy in my shop without making an account?

On purpose: forcing people to make an account is one of the things that most makes them abandon a purchase. For a product from your shop, their name, their email and, if they want, their phone is enough; in return they get a code and a link to their order, and with their code and their email they check it in My order. The account (My courses) is for courses: a course is watched later, from any device, and for that they have to sign in with their account.

When paying, “Pickup at the space” won’t let me select it

It is already selected: if it is the only way of delivery, it comes pre-selected. And the chosen option has its dot inside the circle, in your website’s colour, so you can see it: when paying in your shop and when signing up for a workshop (You are joining as).

How do I see what has been ordered, by whom and how they want it?

In Your shop → Orders, tap the order (anywhere on its card works): it opens with what they ordered (size, colour, how many), their contact details, how they want it (pickup or shipping, with their address), how they pay and the buttons to mark it as it goes along (Ready for pickup, Shipped, Delivered…). If it was paid by card, the order has The card payment and See it in your payments. And in Your payments → Payments, each payment leads to what was paid for: See the order, See the course or See the event.

How do I let someone who bought know their order is ready?

Inside the order, under Let them know, By WhatsApp opens your WhatsApp with their number and the message already written, and By email opens your email program with the subject and the message already written: you only have to send it. ADLANTE does not send emails for you; the screen itself says so (“ADLANTE doesn’t send emails yet: the message goes from your WhatsApp or your email, already written.”).

Do my customers get an email when their order is ready or shipped?

Not yet; do not count on it. ADLANTE plans to send those emails on its own, with your name and your colours (“order received”, “ready for pickup”, “shipped”, “money returned” and “we have received your withdrawal”), but they will only go out the day ADLANTE turns on its email service. Meanwhile, let them know yourself with Let them know.

What is “Withdraw from the contract here” in my shop?

It is a button ADLANTE adds on its own to your shop (in your website’s footer and on each order’s page), with those exact words, because the rules for selling online require it. It lets whoever buys from you go back on it within 14 days of receiving their order, without giving reasons (the “right of withdrawal”): they enter their name, their order and how to contact them, confirm, and get a receipt with the date and time. You do not have to do anything for it to be there.

What happens when someone taps “Withdraw from the contract here”?

A form opens inside your website: they enter their name, how to contact them and, if they want, the reason; they tap Confirm withdrawal (that second step is required) and get a receipt with the date and time. The money is not returned on its own.

You see the order in Your shop → Orders with the label Withdrawal received and a notice of what to do: refund them within 14 days at the latest from their notice (you can wait until you have what they bought back). If they paid by card, you refund inside the same order, with Refund under The card payment. If they paid on pickup or by transfer, you refund them yourself and mark the order with Money returned.

Workshops, masterclasses and bootcamps

A complete explanation, step by step, in the workshops guide.

What is the workshops manager and how much does it cost?

It is the tool to create your workshops, masterclasses and bootcamps, so they show on your website and people sign up (and pay by card) there. It is a paid tool: you turn it on in Your plan, where you see its monthly price (ADLANTE sets it and it can be different for each space; if it costs you €0, you have it without doing anything). Setting up is free: you can create your events and try the section without turning it on; you pay when you really use it, when you publish. On top of that, from every ticket sold ADLANTE takes its commission, as in the shop and the courses; how much, in Your plan, under On each sale.

What is this “Mínimo 3 meses”?

Some tools have a minimum number of months (Minimum 3 months). You are told before turning it on, with the date. If you remove it before completing them, it is not removed: it keeps working (and being charged) until that date, and that day it turns itself off. Meanwhile, Keep it on leaves it as it was. If ADLANTE raises the minimum later, yours does not change: you keep the one you had when you turned it on. Once you have completed it, you remove it whenever you like. More in Your plan.

How do I sell a workshop on my website?

In your panel, Your workshops → Create an event: write its title and tap Create. Inside, give it its date (Starts), its price (The price) and its places (The places), upload its poster and tick Show it on your website (to show, it needs a date). In your website editor, Añadir una sección (Add a section) → Intensivos (Workshops) (once), and Publicar (Publish). To take card payments, your Stripe has to be connected (Your payments). With price 0, people sign up without paying. To share its link, Copy the link.

Where do my workshops show on my website?

In the Intensivos (Workshops) section: at the top your main poster (portrait on the phone, landscape on the computer) and one card per event, with its date, its places and its price. Each event has its own page (yourspace.adlante.com/intensivos/name-of-the-event), with the form to sign up and pay; that is the link you share. The section can go on your home page or on its own page (/intensivos), like any other. If you do not have any yet, it says “We will announce the next ones soon.” In Probar (Try it) you see everything, but nobody really signs up.

My workshop is only for lady style (or only for men style): how do I stop it asking for leads and follows?

In Your workshops, inside the event, under The places, choose Follows only (lady style) or Leads only (men style) and set how many places there are (if you leave it empty, no limit). On your website it shows “Follows only · 8 left” and whoever signs up does not have to choose a role. For partner dancing, In pairs (with places for leads and for follows); to ignore who is who, A total; and No limit.

What are the places “in pairs”?

You set how many places there are for leads and how many for follows (so that pairs come out); whoever signs up says which one they are (You are joining as). If the lead places run out, they can no longer sign up as a lead, but they can as a follow. You can also set a total (ignoring the role) or no limit. The names (“Leads” and “Follows”) are changed in The section on your website, under What you call the places (some spaces say “Leaders” and “Followers”).

Can I sell more places than I have?

No. ADLANTE checks it on every sign-up, one at a time: even if two people tap at the same moment for the last place, one gets in and the other sees “Sold out”. While someone is paying, their place is held for 30 minutes; if they do not pay, it becomes free again on its own.

What happens to workshops that have already passed?

When their date passes they move on their own to Past events (the small link at the end of your list, See past events (3)). Nothing is deleted: their texts, their poster, who signed up and who came. You can also archive one earlier with Archive, and bring it back with Move back to active. Past events never show on your website.

How do I repeat a workshop I already ran?

Open it (in Past events if it has passed) and tap Duplicate. A new one appears with its texts, its poster, its price and its places, with no date and hidden: you give it the new date and turn it on with Show it on your website.

Can I delete a workshop?

Only if nobody ever signed up: Delete asks “Delete this event?” first. If someone has already signed up, it is archived: that way you do not lose who paid.

How do I refund a ticket?

In Your payments, on that ticket, Refund (as with a shop order); from the list of people who signed up you can also get there with Refund (in “Your payments”). Their place becomes free again. A free sign-up is cancelled in the list of people who signed up with Cancel their place.

Can someone who buys a ticket change their mind within 14 days?

For an activity on a set date, consumer rules often do not give those 14 days. The website tells them before they pay, with a tick box: “I understand this is an activity on a set date: there are no 14 days to withdraw. If it is cancelled, I get back what I paid; and if the date changes and I cannot go on the new one, too.” If you cancel the event, the money is refunded. If what you offer is more training than leisure, check with your accountant or a lawyer.

How do I let the people who signed up know something?

In the event, under Who signed up: each person by WhatsApp or Email, or with Email everyone and Copy the phone numbers. ADLANTE does not send emails for you: yours open, with the message already written.

How do I mark who came?

In the list of people who signed up for that event, the Came box next to each person: one tap. It is saved at once.

Stripe: connecting your account and filling in the sign-up

The Stripe steps, one by one and with what you need to have at hand, are in the card payments guide. These are the questions that come up most.

Does each space have to create its own Stripe account?

Each space that wants to take card payments has its own, because the money is its own and Stripe (the company that processes cards) has to know who it pays. But you do not need to create it beforehand or go to Stripe: in Your payments, Connect with Stripe creates it at that moment; Stripe asks for your details and your bank account (the law requires it) and you come back to your panel. Your students need nothing: they pay with their card. The money arrives in your bank; ADLANTE only keeps its commission on each sale, and Stripe its own. To be paid on pickup or by transfer you do not need Stripe.

When I tap “Connect with Stripe” it says “Stripe no ha aceptado la operación”

It is nothing you did: it is on ADLANTE’s side. Tell us with Missing something? Tell us and we will look into it. It is different if you already connected your account in the other Stripe mode (test or live): then Your payments tells you so and shows Connect with Stripe again.

Stripe asks me for an email: which one do I use?

Your space’s, the one you want to use to sign in to Stripe. If you already have a Stripe account, you can use that same email: Stripe will ask you to sign in with your password and you will have both accounts together. If not, Stripe creates one with that email. You give your details and your bank account to Stripe, on its own page: ADLANTE does not see them.

In the Stripe sign-up, what do I put for “Your website” and for the sector?

Your ADLANTE website, the one shown in your panel under your space’s name (yourspace.adlante.com); it has to be published, because Stripe looks at what you sell. ADLANTE already fills in the website, the sector and a description: check them. For the sector, the one closest to what you sell; for someone who teaches classes, one from education (“Other educational services” works).

What do I put for “Statement descriptor”?

The name of your space, as your students know it: it is what they will see on their bank statement. If they do not recognise it, they can dispute the charge with their bank. The short version, 2 to 10 letters.

Stripe offers me fraud protection: Standard, Plus or Pro

Choose the basic one, “Lite”: it is included and costs nothing. The others have a cost on every payment, which you see on Stripe’s own screen. To start, Lite is enough, and you can change it later in your Stripe panel.

It asks me to contribute to the climate (“Climate”) and to turn on “Stripe Tax”

Both are optional and belong to Stripe, not ADLANTE. Climate is donating part of what you take; Stripe Tax helps with taxes and charges a commission per sale. You can skip them: “Omitir” and “Ahora mismo no” (Skip, Not now). Your taxes, with your accountant.

Payouts “Manual” or “Automatic”?

“Automatic”: the money arrives in your bank on its own (for example, every week). With “Manual” it stays in Stripe until you ask for it.

It asks me for a selfie and a photo of my ID

It is Stripe checking that it is you: to take card payments, the law requires it. The photos go to Stripe, not to ADLANTE. The easiest is to do it with your phone.

When I come back from Stripe, my account says “Restricted”

Your sign-up has been sent, but Stripe does not let you take payments yet: it still has to check something (your details or a document). In Your payments, “Stripe needs: …” says what it is (your bank account, an identity document…) and Continue signing up with Stripe takes you to what is missing; Open your Stripe dashboard takes you to Stripe’s own panel. Sometimes you just have to wait for Stripe to finish looking. When it says Active, you can take card payments.

Do buyers leave my website to pay? Does my brand show on the payment?

They do not leave. When paying by card (in your shop or in a workshop) a window opens on top of your website, with your name, your fonts and your colours; inside is Stripe’s payment, and its pay button carries your colour (the one from Toda la web (Whole website); if your colour is white, a dark one, so it can be read). On the phone it takes almost the whole screen. When finished, they come back to your “thank you” page with their code. Close takes them back to their order, where Back to payment is still there.

The name and the icon shown inside are those of your Stripe account: they are changed in your Stripe panel, under Settings → Branding. If it cannot open there on their phone (a blocker, for example), it goes to the usual Stripe page, with your name: the payment works just the same. The window only opens if ADLANTE has it turned on; if not, the payment is that Stripe page.

Your payments: seeing payments and refunding

Where do I see what I have been paid? Do all my orders show there?

In Your payments → Payments you see everything you take by card: the orders of your shop, your courses and your modules (each with its label: Shop, Course, Module or Workshop), what ADLANTE keeps from each, and the Refund button. At the top, Takings adds it up (not counting Stripe’s commission, which you see in your Stripe panel). Each payment leads to what was paid for: See the order, See the course or See the event.

What you are paid on pickup or by transfer does not go through Stripe and does not show there: all the orders of your shop, however they are paid, are in Your shop → Orders, which is the list for preparing and delivering them.

How do I refund someone who paid by card?

In Your payments → Payments, on that payment, tap Refund: it asks whether you refund the amount → Refund. The money goes back to their card within a few days and the payment becomes Refunded. It cannot be undone. ADLANTE’s commission is not refunded.

You can also do it inside the order, in Your shop: if it was paid by card, the order has The card payment (its state, its amount and the date) with Refund, with the same question as in Your payments. Afterwards it says what was refunded (“Refunded: … It goes back to their card within a few days.”) and it no longer lets you refund it again.

On my paid course I see “To sell it by card, connect your payments”

It shows in the Price section of a course with a price while your space cannot yet take card payments (without Connect with Stripe, or with the sign-up not finished). It says “Until then, it cannot be paid by card on your website.” Go to «Your payments» takes you to connect it; when Stripe sets it Active, the notice goes away on its own. A free course (or one with no price) does not show it.

Courses and students

The courses, module by module, are in the courses guide.

Where do I see my students and how do I test what they see?

In Your students you see who has created an account on your website, which courses they have and since when. To test what they see, in Your courses tap View as student: it opens your website in another tab exactly as a student who has all your published courses sees it, without making you another account: My courses, each course with its lessons and videos. At the top it says “You are viewing your website as a student”, with Exit. You do not show up in Your students, you buy nothing and where you go is not saved.

It needs your website published and open and at least one published course; if something is missing, you see “Nothing to see yet” and Go to your courses.

The “Entrar” button on my website does not work: can’t I create an account?

In Probar (Try it), Entrar (Sign in) tells you “Tus alumnos podrán entrar aquí cuando publiques tu primer curso” (your students will be able to sign in here when you publish your first course) or, if you already have courses, to open your website, or that your space does not have the student area yet. When your students can already sign in, the button becomes My courses, and to see it yourself, use View as student in Your courses: you do not need to make another account. For people visiting your website, Entrar (Sign in) keeps saying “Muy pronto podrás entrar aquí con tu cuenta” (soon you will be able to sign in here with your account) until your first published course.

Do I have to tap “Save” in every box? When I leave, it says my changes will not be saved

No. In a course there is a single Save, at the bottom, that stays in view as you scroll down the page. When you touch something, it says “You have unsaved changes.”; when you tap it, everything is saved in one go. If something is badly written, nothing is saved and it marks it in red in its box (“Nothing was saved: check what’s shown in red.”). It only warns you when you leave if something is really left unsaved.

Won’t my course show as “In production” until it has modules or lessons?

It does not need modules or lessons. In the course, under Phase, choose In production and save: on your website it shows with the label “In production”, not yet for sale. The phases are Draft (only you see it), In production, Coming soon (with its launch) and Published (with its price). To be Published it does need a price (or to be marked free) and a published lesson with its video ready: if something is missing, the course says “To publish it, you still need:”.

If you still do not see it on your website, check that your website is Abierta (Open) and not in “Próximamente” (coming soon): Publicar (Publish) → Cómo está tu web (How your website is).

The panel on a computer

On a computer, why is my panel no longer a narrow column?

On a computer (with the menu on the left), Your shop, Orders, Your payments and Your workshops use the whole width: their sections go in two columns, or their cards sit side by side. On a phone and a tablet, as before.

Can’t find your question?

If your question is not here, look at the guide for that topic: what ADLANTE is, the editor, the shop, workshops, courses, card payments or your plan.

And if it is not in any of them, tell us: tap Missing something? Tell us, write a title and the description, and tap Send it. The questions that repeat most end up in this list. How to use that mailbox, step by step, in Your photos, the bin and languages.
